Approbation Requirements

All applicants with 6 years General or specialized medicine from outside Germany need to make approbation in Germany.

Approbation Requirements:

Five courses in German: A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1
Each course consists of 100 – 200 hours.
Finishing A1 – B1 in Lebanon.
Finishing B2 – C1 in Germany.
Finishing B2-Medizin – C1-Medizin in Germany.
C1 exam at medical chamber.

Approbation Types

One to one approbation:

The education from most EU Countries will be recognized as being equivalent to the German medical education and the applicant aquires the approbation.

Approbation equivalent to the German medical education system:

The education from non EU countries will be tested according to the equivalency. If your education is not equivalent to the German system, then you will get a job search permit for two years. In these 2 years you have to make the Gleichwertigkeitsprüfung (equivalency exams for approbation).
